Re: Exhibition: Relicts - Exploring the Flora of Gondwana

Hi Mark, it looks like you have captured some superb images from the brief introduction on the web site. It’s a bugger CV19 will preclude anyone from Victoria getting over to Tasmania for quite a while. Highly important exhibition at a time when the fight is on to save the Tarkine and wilderness are...

Re: Tarraville Church

Hi Mick, next time I’m down in Hedley I will give this church a visit.
Forgot to mention your image shows exceptionally good tonality and resolution even on my iPad.
Strong contender for a Fine Print!

Re: My Mother's Kitchen

There’s a palpable sense of presence in this image as if someone has just stepped out for a while to put washing in the line. The kettle waiting for the next cup of tea, the chair waiting for someone to be seated defies the ticking of the clock quietly edging towards departure time. When my own moth...

Re: Observations on staying ho

Yes it’s bloody frustrating being locked down yet again in Melbourne. But I suppose I am lucky to be able to work from home and not have financial pressures. 2020 has been a very strange year, with the worldwide geopolitical tensions, Covid 19 and the passing of Richard White. it seems the rest of t...

Re: Tarraville Church

Nice image Mick - My family used to stay at a guest farm in Hedley and I’m sure this is close by but I don’t remember seeing this old Church.
Looks very well preserved!

Re: My Mother's Parlor

I can relate to the vibes of this image very closely as it reminds me of my own mother’s house when she left it for the last time - for Aged Care.
For me the image captures a strange atmosphere of both presence and loss.

It reminds us of the passage of time and perhaps our own mortality.

Still catching up on your posts and this one is very special.
Love the ambiguity in the composition and how the image quietly resonates the changing of the seasons.

Great composition Maris - your images seem to capture the essence of the landscape in an elegant but understated way.
You provide this forum with ongoing education in the art of “seeing”.

Nice image Maris, but the resolution I see doesn’t do it justice.
