Re: f128 Snow Gum Dance

Simply wonderful! It never ceases to amaze me how such order and balance can be found within nature, from a distance it looks like chaos but take a few steps closer and it all starts to make sense. I can only imagine how beautiful the contact print must be with the detail of the 810 in all it's glor...

Re: 80mm enlarging lens advice

I picked up a used Componon which was supposedly in mint condition; unfortunately the seller didn't know anything about lenses and it looked like the botanical gardens inside! Returned it and picked up an EL-Nikkor 80/5.6 N which is in great condition. Just waiting on some chemistry before I get pri...

Re: A few more for my Silos series...

For me the filter combination is really important in this series; without the drama the silos just seem to lose their impact and monument feel within the landscape. I guess they've always fascinated me, and I find them slightly ironic in that they are such an integral part of the landscape, yet at t...

A few more for my Silos series...

I'm slowly adding a few more images to my silos series from the Lockhart Shire in the NSW Riverina... https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3941/15360500439_02707b5e51_o.jpg Milbrulong Tmax 100 on Shen Hao 4x5 with Caltar II-N 75/4.5 and red + linear polarising filters https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3952/1...

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

Got the globes and it all went as planned! Blew the first one and was thinking here we go again but the second one worked fine. Thanks for all the input and help!

Re: For Sale forum

Hi Jon,

I just submitted a test post into the For Sale forum and it worked like normal. Maybe try again?

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

I've ordered a stack of the 82v 85w lamps and will keep my fingers crossed it all works as planned! I'll let you know how it all goes.

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

Thanks Steve, I really appreciate your help! I took the transformer back to JayCar and was told they don't don't refund or exchange, sounds dodgy to me but there you go. I guess I have to live with having an overkill there! The step-down transformer method seems to me a lot easier as there's no rewi...

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

Cheers Steve, what you said about the power supply made sense - I plugged it into the mains and even after switching it off it held power for a while making it no good to use. To get around using a power supply I caved and bought a 500W 240/120V step-down transformer effectively giving myself US mai...

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

Given up on the step-down transformer option. The timer needs about 600W power and to get a transformer big enough is about $400. Looks like I'll be buying a 240V timer from the states and rewiring an AU plug to it. The GraLab 300 comes in a 240V 50Hz so might get one of these. It seriously shouldn'...
