Re: Umbagong cascade

John, that really looks velvety, if you know what I mean. The highlights in the wet area look like liquid light shimmering off of the surface, really nice.

Re: Gobo For "The Mound Of Diamonds"

Pretty neat use of the 300mm to compress the distance of the headstones and your gobo; I like this effect. A few years ago I picked up a 250mm lens for 4x5" photography, I don't think I have used my 210mm lens since and I know for certain I've used the 150mm even less. I would love to have a 30...

Re: Ready, Willling And Able

Very interesting Walter, I like the construction and think it will be more than suitable for your use, but I question the stated weight limit of 20kg as being obtainable, let alone doable. With a weight of 360gm for the head, placing 20kg on that is going to be interesting, providing that your tripo...

Re: An Interesting Read About Fuji vs Kodak

Mirko is quite well known in the European theatre and especially in Germany. It was my ambition that the next time I went to Berlin, where one of my wife's nieces lives; I would visit Adox. Somehow I fear that may never happen, such is life. One interesting thing is their retail shop in Berlin, it i...

Re: Ready, Willling And Able

Walter, that looks pretty good and most importantly, workable.

I didn't know what that geared head looked like, looked it up and it seems to be as good as a ball joint in what it can do, but is geared.

Re: Havoc And Regeneration

The path of light that starts at the darkened bark, then ends in what looks like a clearing, is very good.

Seeing something like this is one thing, getting it onto film is another.

Re: Mound Of Diamonds

In this city of the dead, it certainly looks as though "Diamonds Are Forever".

Pretty ingenious picture there Walter, along with the collective noun for your title.

Re: Paperbark Stump, Sedge Field.

The brightness of the main subject almost appears to be reflected by the stand of trees at the rear, combined with the flat looking sedges in-between, you've certainly achieved your concatenation.

Quite eye catching.

Re: Wattle and friends

John, I like the composition as it is; sometimes a tight composition is fine, but I think the breathing room you have given to your wattle, has in this instance, worked. I wonder though whether you considered lightening up the overall image, not by much, maybe 2/10s of a stop or possibly up to 1/3 o...

Re: Warneet Boat

Walter, I nearly choked on my breakfast when I read your reference to Persil. I'm married to a German and on my first visit to meet the then girlfriend and possible future in-laws, I needed some laundry done. Down to the cellar I went with my girlfriends mother to be greeted with a 50 year old washi...
