Re: Nude Reclining in Tree

The central triangle is what grabbed me, seeing the scrub and beach in the background looked good. I also thought the compressed calf muscle looks good. Took me a few seconds to wonder about the foliage being so bright, until I thought of infrared film; then I read your notes. I've never used infrar...

Re: Tom's Boat.

The composition with Tom's boat in the foreground and (Thomasina's? :D ) boat in the background completely capture one's eyes, the crooked horizon was only noticeable to me, because you mentioned it.

Re: Wanted: Print Washer

For anything that size, you really need to be looking at tray (or dish) washing. Kodak made an automatic tray siphon. This was great as it attaches to a tap for water inlet, and had a siphon for water outlet. The major downside is that you will need to elevate your tray in the sink by about the dept...

Sauna Fence

This was taken as a set subject, fences or borders, for a monthly assignment in another photographic forum; took me a couple of days looking around wherever I went, then suddenly I see this fence which I walk past going down the backyard to the darkroom. A very long time since using such a wide aper...

Re: Native raspberry leaves

John, that, as Maris mentions, is a nicely balanced picture.

Not sure if your father getting smashed by mossies quite sees this image, in the same vein as we do! :o

Re: Harry Spring's Kitchen, Noosa Everglades.

I see, that certainly makes sense. I must admit all of the kitchens I was in as a kid in the sticks, didn't have that kind of roof or chimney structure; or at least I don't remember them. My uncle Ted had a bush house and a kitchen out the back, which also housed the copper boiler for washing. I rem...

Re: Windmill Wrangler, Blackall.

Love windmills, looks like a 9m tower version, which a lot of Comet windmills used. High enough to get above the scrub, but not really high enough if there was a stand of trees nearby. Nice composition, including one of the pump yard posts in the foreground works for me. Gotta keep stock away from t...

Re: Horizontal Forms, Sedge Filed.

Maris, quite a striking horizontal form especially with that great colour change from the background, it really does stand out.

I suppose that perched lake becomes a parched lake, when it dries out?

Re: Harry Spring's Kitchen, Noosa Everglades.

Hmm, architecture that I grew up with; love it.

Looks like it is attached to the house/cabin via some kind of timber and tin roofing; bit of a no no that regarding fire to the house prevention.

A nice flat(ish) day allowing you to get shadow detail on the darker sections of the orb iron.
