Re: Coloured Filters for B&W

lachlan, i would be interested in seeing the xpro setup you have... i will need the same when i get a 72 for my 617. my 500$ polarizer is the singh ray lb warming polarizer in a slim ring. its a linear polarizer, i may well sell my lee holder, and the 100mm filters for a x pro setup.. i only need a ...

Re: Coloured Filters for B&W

i use my lee setup for everything. bw coloured filters, grads, polarizer, the lot. i find it easier this way as im usually using a grad, coloured filter and a polarizer at once and any system other than my lee setup vignettes. its also much easier to position a polarizer, meter through the filter st...

Re: Alas poor Velvia 8x10. We knew him well.

velvia 50 has been discontinued in all sheet film sizes. not only 8x10. i am sad to see it go and will miss 4*5 velvia 50.. velvia 100 is still available but we all know its not the same. luckily for me i generally only shoot black and white in 4*5 and bigger, reserving my colour work to my 120 roll...

Increasing contrast via development?

I've been doing quite a bit of BW work recently and have found that my negs never give me the dramatic contrast I expect... Firstly, I am still waiting on my Red, Orange and Yellow filters to arrive, and I know without them the contrast is always a little washed out, but is there anything I can do d...

Re: More panoramic action.

Heres a few recent ones from my Gaoersi 6x17. Lens used is a Super Angulon 90mm F/8. I REALLY need a center filter. fall off is quite noticeable on BW, I can only imagine how horrible it would be on Velvia 50... Varying shutter speeds, all at F/32. All on Ilford Pan F+ Rodinal 50:1, 8min 15sec @ 24c.

Re: More panoramic action.

Re: First solo development of 120 film

I find rodinal with T-Max to be fantastic, great sharpness, although not as sharp as Ilford Pan F+.

To really take advantage of T-Max's SUPER fine grain, you need to use a staining developer like Pyrocat.. Having said that, the trade-off there (from my experience) is loss of resolution..
