Re: Recommendation on lab processing Velvia?

Those few labs that are still processing E-6 have made a commitment to maintaining their chemistry etc and, as professional labs, stand or fall by the quality of there work. Anecdotally, the two labs here in Melbourne processing E-6 seem to be running good volumes, which helps to maintain the stabil...

+ 1 Vision Image Lab

I send my E-6 8x10 to them and 4x5 if I have a large amount. I can highly recommend their service.

Re: Snow gum, Technical Pan

Thank you all for your kind comments. This is one those images that very nearly didn’t happen and committing it to a sheet of Tech Pan required rather a leap of faith. What the final image doesn’t hint at is the half hour of precarious balancing by both photographer and camera on an adjacent rock ou...

Re: More Snow gums

We are very fortunate to live in a country which has such an amazing variety of tree species but you are right Barry, there is a presence that Snow Gums have that seem to draw us to them. Perhaps it's because the diverse habit (form) and colour the trees exhibit lend them to a great range of composi...

Re: Kodak Plus-X Pan film

Some of the first fruits. Unfortunately is looks like the Plus-X sheets are fogged along one edge. You were spot on with your suggestion for EI, Maris. Apologies for the terrible quality of the jpegs.

Re: Kodak Plus-X Pan film

Thanks for your advice Maris. I've shot a few sheets of TRI-X of similar age and ended up rating that at 50. Your suggestion of 25 for the Plus-X sounds like an excellent staring point. Hopefully I might have something worthwhile to post in due course.
