Oh - And with the recent acquisition of a 4x5 enlarger I have decided I will be keeping the print drums! :D

First images from my home made camera!! :D

Well... Here is the results from $16 worth of pine, a $140 90mm F/8 and a linhof 4x5 back. 6x12 back... Shot on Velvia 50, developed at home. Microtek I900 scanner. Think I'm going to pull this camera apart to make a 6x17 point and shoot... Seeing how easily this worked, I think making a 6x17 from m...

Re: WTB: Tripod head suitable for Cambo 8x10

I use a Really Right Stuff BH-55.. I've had everything on it from my Nikon SLR with a 500mm F/4 through to a 4x5 monorail setup on the beach in strong winds... My Manfrotto 055XproB legs are definitely the weak point in the setup. The head feels solid as a rock no matter what I put on it and it just...

Re: Direct or Indirect Shifts?

I find at times the blurred water is a good effect, but I will usually use ND filters to achieve it, trying to stay between F/16 and F/22 most of the time for my landscape work. Occasionally I will get a shot all focused and ready to shoot at F/8 but this happens rarely for me... I have however only...

I would love to have the skills and equipment required to make prints in a darkroom.. I just recently read about enlargers and the process involved in making prints... One day i might scrape together the gear and give it a go...

Re: 4x5 point and shoot.

Yeah mate its just a wooden box with a graflok back on the rear and a linhof lens board on the front.... I know for next time, aim for 0.5~1cm short then shim out the lens board until hyperfocal is achieved. The camera I'm drawing up for the 47mm F/5.6 is going to have a helical focuser on the front...

Re: 4x5 point and shoot.

Yeah the flange focal distance is 7mm too deep... Distance between the back of the shutter to the film plane.. I dont have a router myself but I do have access to one through a mate.. I might give that a fly... On the other hand, I've just had an offer on my 75/4.5.... I might wait until after the s...
