Re: Pressure Vessel, Charters Towers.

Quite interesting reply with regard to the mass of the pressure vessel and why it is where it is. Riveting stuff. I'm assuming the pressure inside and out is constant at one atmosphere? I've always liked arriving at Charters Towers when coming from the west, wonderful verandahs in the main...

Re: Lady Carrington

Graham, welcome to the forum.

Nice first picture with a new to you camera, hopefully you have a box or carrying case for your camera; they can be a bit hard to tramp around with.

I agree with Maris, the palm in the front certainly gives this a lift.

Re: Cazneaux Tree

I like that look with the low clouds in the background, probably about the best photograph of that tree I have seen. I really like that you have not included the whole tree, which makes it all the more interesting, to me. I would suppose that Harold Cazneaux probably never thought that particular ph...

Re: Rose & Iris

This does look very nice, interesting film, I haven't used it. Is it something new, or something you've had for ages? The grain structure in the window area, looks very much like a lithographic mezzanine screen ruling. I too, use a V800 for scanning negatives, but I have never seen a structure like ...

Cobram Courthouse

Took this on Saturday in the cool of the morning, actually, mid morning after a breakfast in the bakery café opposite. The camper was parked right in front of the Courthouse and as we walked back over the road, I spied the building then decided to have a crack at it. I was caught between t...

Re: Bottles and Pears

Pretty good there Maris. Did you think of filling, or half filling some, or all of the bottles for effect?

Regardless, the softness makes this, gives it a lift it would not have with a super sharp image.

Very nice.

Re: University of Southern Queensland

Very interesting to see colour and B&W for the exact same scene, presumably only minutes apart. Your technique is right on the money, the shadow detail in the B&W is exceptionally good, more so as it is near the edges of a wide angle lens. No mention of a graduated centre filter and yet the ...

Re: Alpana Station

I think the middle one would work best, it will allow for some lifting of the heavier areas as the image starts to fade. Thereby allowing your relatives in 100 years to marvel at old Bazz and how good he was.

Maris, has some very valid points.

Re: Rock Pool and Nude

Maris, always good to hear the back story to a picture. I thought the right hand was perfectly placed and looked natural. Funny how we sometimes sweat over something, only to find that others don't even think about it. Models sometimes do things that we (photographers) find very uncomfortable when t...

Re: Bleached Snow Gums

Beautiful contrast control, the major cloud is perfectly placed, certainly lifts the whole image. The texture of the grass is great, contact printing really is something else.

Very nice.
