Re: Building a 7x17 inch ULF camera

Nup; not yet! Also, since building this, the wood seems to have shrunk a bit, leaving the movements a bit slack. Strange, as the wood is from a 50+ years old table. I thought that it would be stable by now. So, I'm now faced with either resetting the base (runners etc), or redesigning/rebuilding it....

Re: Some thoughts on bellows making

Have a look at ecbuyonline. Did a great set of bellows for me.

Heaps cheaper than the Custom Bellows.

Re: Nuclear Physicist, Retired.

The fujinon w lenses are so underrated. Andrew, I suspect that the same could be said for much of the Fujinon range — especially where LF is concerned. I recall that in my 8x10 days I had a couple of long focal length lenses that were absolute crackers ...... maybe compact 600 and 800 if memory ser...

Re: Already lusting after 16x20..

More a format thing.

I just don't see in 135/4x5/8x10 very well, not like the ratio in print.

1220 is really close to the Golden Ratio, so maybe that's it?

I also prefer 1:2.5 to 1:3 in pano formats.

And square on my phone!

Re: Already lusting after 16x20..

That Chamonix and Nick Thorley's DIY are the only Ultra Ultra Large I've seen here in Oz. Craig Tuffin's the only other Banquet Camera shooter I know of in Australia besides myself. I'm about to start work on a 1114, once I've finished the 810 and 717 that is. The only other one I'm considering is t...

Re: Building a 7x17 inch ULF camera

Stagnated.

My feeble, weak brain can't work out how to attach the rear bellows.

I'm not too smart....

(Also working out if I can replace the base with a 4mm sheet of CF. reckon that'd drop at least half a kg in weight).
