Re: Film pricing

Blanco Negro (Sydney) has Fomapan 100 4x5 sheet for $60 /50 sheet. The most horrible film I have ever used and I can get it cheaper than that anyway. but truly it looks best in the rubbish bin and that's where that last half box went. I can get better results from 35mm Tmax than that crap. I'm inte...

Film pricing

Well it is a sad day , I have been paying $88 for a box of 50 sheets of Tmax100 film from Vanbar , looked today to place an order and it is now over $130. Ilford film from Vanbar is even more of a rip off and Vanbar is the lest rip off company in AU so there is no where else to get it cheaper. The o...

Re: First Scans with the V700

When scanning I have found you will always get far better scans with things like dust removal turned off , don't let your scanner make any decisions for you , adjust things like levels and contrast on the scanner to give you the most information , this will not be the best looking scan but this is n...

Re: 4x5 in Newcastle (Eba/)

I did see that and was tempted to get it but I have no need for a colour enlarger

I got a D2 condenser enlarger a few years back for $150 with an 80mm rodagon and a 150mm componon lens.

Re: Printing paper otions

Thank you Walter. Thats enough recommendation for me to give it a go. I see that the price is even better at larger sizes , at 40 x 50 cm, 20 sheets of the Tetenal is cheaper than 10 sheets of the Ilford. At 20 x 25 Ilford appears to be cheaper. I just hope it is still available next week when I go ...

Printing paper otions

Hello all Have been looking at Vanbar site at photo paper and what is available. Have always loved FB papers and have always used Ilford , the only reason I have always used Ilford is because it is available and I think it is a good paper but it is however expensive. Vanbar also have in stock Tetena...

Re: MOD54 negative processing - first impressions

Its all I have for 4x5 processing so I don't have a choice but to use it.

Personally I think they work fine provided you are not to vigorous on the agitation.

It also does not like agitation by twiddle stick as this does cause development marks where the film clips in

Re: Fomapan film

Hello Walter I do get some film from cheap shots AU and for most films he is a bit cheaper than Vanbar but unfortunately not for Tmax , Vanbar is around the $85 for a 50 sheet box and cheap shots is over $140 for the same box. Most other films are maybe a bit cheaper buy around 1 % but I find 35mm t...
