Re: Film Processing questions

Just checked again and I got the price wrong. Colour is only $12 to process but BW is $15. How does that work! Unless I'm missing something. Still pretty expensive. Prolab prices here: http://www.prolab.com.au/services/Lab-Services/Film-Processing.php Now looking at ways to process my own BW 4x5 neg...

Re: Exposure metering

Thanks for the replies. So it looks like I should be ok using my DSLR. I actually ferreted out my old Weston Master universal meter (circa 1942) and tested it in the garden against my DSLR and it was spot on - amazing. I'll have to give it a go as well. As you say much better than lugging a DSLR aro...

Re: Film Processing questions

Yes, I have already had a look at the Prolab price list. Looks like $18 to process a 4x5 neg.
Thanks for the drum scan info. I'll check that out.
Paul.

Exposure metering

Hi, is it possible to use a 35mm digital camera to work out the exposure for LF camera. I mean is using the same speed/iso setting of the 4x5 film - will this give me the correct exposure? How about taking the reading from the ground glass? I'm getting ready for my first LF photo session using 4x5 s...

Film Processing questions

Hello everyone, My used LF camera will be arriving shortly. I'm now looking at options for 4x5 film processing. I will be using B/W and colour film. I know from my forum searches most of you seem to do your own processing but I'd like to use a processing lab for now. Can anyone offer some info on th...

Off center lens board

Hi, would someone please explain the use of an off center lens boards and when you would use one.
I will be ordering a couple shortly for a 90mm and 210mm lense.
As you probably guessed I'm new to LF so please excuse me if this seems a silly question.
Many thanks, Paul.

Re: Lens board help

Hi Walter I got it for $216 + postage of $60 which I think is not bad (I've been scanning Ebay for a few months and have a good idea of prices). It's in good condition and has a normal bellows. I already have 2 lenses, 210mm and 90mm. I also picked up a Kodak Ektar 7.5 inch lens locally at an antiqu...

Lens board help

Hi, This is my first post and I'm new to 4x5 cameras. I will be receiving a used Linhof Karden Color 4x5 camera shortly - bought off Ebay. It's the one with a square monorail (not round). I'm a bit confused as to which lens boards fit this camera. 163x163 size seems to be the size. Will a Cambo Calu...
