Something like this?

I really struggle to "see" in these long-lens views, so I doffs me hat to ya!

Re: 4x5 point and shoot.

Do you mean that the distance from the film plane to the lens is too deep? I wasn't sure. Also, what tools do you have access to? A decent router table (with adjustable guards) will do this extremely well if you have the right bit (easy to do and to find). A simple micrometer measurement of the bit-...

Re: More panoramic action.

Hey Lachlan, any chance you could upload a pic of one of your 7x17 slides on a light box or similar? I'd love to see what it looks like! Right; as promised. Here is the comparison. BTW, I had trouble getting a decent shot of the light table due to the frequency flicker of the fluro tubes, and the r...

Re: The Wonder Of The Contact Print

I have recently become intrigued by the contact print... How its done, what is required... I watched a video by Jim Fitzgerald on carbon transfer the other day. I think I have the itch. Whilst I have yet to see on in the carbon (its version of in the flesh), my understanding is that they are someth...

Re: Backpack?

I have a Vangard 58 for my 4x5/6x17 camera. Perfect size for carry-on. When carrying the 6x17, I'll put the film holder in checked baggage to save carry-on weight. For the 7x17, I have a 100+ litre travel back pack from Anaconda. It will hold the camera, 3 lenses and 4 film holders. It's crap for ac...

Hey Lachlan, any chance you could upload a pic of one of your 7x17 slides on a light box or similar? I'd love to see what it looks like! Will do; just know that it's B&W only in this sized format (well, until I win Powerball and get some Velvia custom cut). I'll see whether I can put a strip of...

Re: More panoramic action.

The Gaoersi 6x17 does all three but I really cannot work out how you frame count for 6x15, as 3 x 4.5 is 13.5, and there are no frame numbers for 6x7. I actually do like the 6x12 format, and also have some 4x10 FP4+ ready to use, I just need a way to secure it into a 8x10 filmholder. Hi, Shane. My ...

Mate,

If I win Powerball, I'll buy you your own (Shen Hao) 7x17" and give you more Velvia than you can poke a stick at!!
