Re: Infrared Adventures

Maris, have you actually done the motorcycle goggle trip thing? Sounds like it would be a giggle. With regard to Infra Red film, specifically the Kodak film, this is the cheat sheet I used for quite some years and a reasonable amount of that film with great success. I never used a light meter or rat...

Re: Boulder and Shrubs, Porcupine Track, Infrared

Maris, having used Kodak HIE extensively, along with a dedicated IR 720 filter, have you tried this method to gauge IR activity? Holding the filter in my hands and blocking as much extraneous light as possible, I quickly held the filter up to a single eye. A very quick scan of the desired image one ...

Re: Boulder and Shrubs, Porcupine Track, Infrared

Maris, that looks like the perfect IR image. It looks as though it was exposed either mid morning or mid afternoon, which from my own experience with Kodak HIE was usually when it worked best. My only IR filter is the Hoya IR72, I'm not sure whether that would change the filtration enough to alter t...

Re: Boreen Point, Old Shed

Geez Maris, do you really think someone would paint this wall? :o

Very nice depiction of a manmade structure succumbing to nature.

Re: Jan In Her Garden.

I like this, very relaxed sitter, who not only knows how to use the camera from her side of the lens, as you mention, it appears she may also be able to operate a Ducati V twin..... Great in-focus area of the sitter, the 300 certainly makes for a shallow depth of field this close, so I'm assuming yo...

Lake Mokoan

An interesting history of Lake Mokoan, which is near Benalla Victoria. I heard about the making of a new dam in the mid to late 60's in the swampy area north west of Benalla. I then was away from the area for some years, upon returning and visiting friends in Thoona in 1975, I was astounded to hear ...

Re: Snake Valley Church

Maris, you are too kind, it's little more than a record picture; albeit a reasonable one, if I do say so myself. :o It was the white painted areas contrasting with the brickwork that first attracted me to this, and once the sun poked out, I could see that the angle of the light was what I hoped for....

Re: Cataract Operation. Yippie!

Extremely good news Maris, maybe you'll give colour film a go now that you are seeing colours more accurately. I'm at the stage of needing more light to read than ever before and I too have noticed that most things are yellow tinged. More than once I have wondered if some people have renal i...

Snake Valley Church

Been away for a while, we have done a bit of travelling in rural and outback areas. Unfortunately the laptop computer I travelled with didn't have the capability of getting into this website and as all communication was done via a tethered mobile phone on pre-paid, communication was kept to a minimu...

Re: Watching TV

Totally engrossed in the television, nice catch. You must be close to the minimum distance, focus is good to boot. As for Grafmatic backs, I have two, mainly used on a converted Polaroid camera (Razzle), one works very well, the other not so great. I used them quite a lot for a couple of years with ...
