Re: new member introduction

Argy Bargy on the internet? I'm all for it really - it shows we all are passionate about our interest. I'd much rather strong opinions than no opinion at all - and 'decisive closed statements' are just as strong opinions as mild 'counter-expletives'... :-) No-one loses an eye and we all might learn ...

Re: new member introduction

"I would not give a moment's consideration to any of the wooden field cameras. They might be light, but that's about it." I agree with Lachlan! That's daft - I've carted my very wooden Wista around the world with a variety of lenses (65/135/300mm) and have never had any cause for complaint...

Re: 5 out of 6 is not bad!

I've bought them from Freestyle Photo http://www.freestylephoto.biz/454100-Printfile-Archival-Negative-Preservers-Holds-4-4x5-negatives-100-pack , and from Printfile directly http://www.printfile.com/45-4b_100.aspx . It's worth buying lots so the postage is less horrible - but that said, I think Fre...

Re: 5 out of 6 is not bad!

I used to use the Klame sleeves, but then they stopped making them, so I bought some el cheapo ones from Vanbar, which weren't awesome (perfectly fine I guess, but the plastic material is really prone to scuffing, making the negatives hard to see without removing them), so then I bit the bullet and ...

Re: What's in Brisbane?

Thanks Guys! That's over three days - two days of fine weather and one of 'challenging weather' :-) I also took my 'Texas Leica' (Fuji 6x8) along but haven't processed those rolls (Fuji Neopan 100) yet. All in all good practice for South Korea in a fortnight's time. I'm told the rain there 'may have...

Re: What's in Brisbane?

Brisbane is grouse! It's 100 degrees warmer than Melbourne (which has cheered me no end), locals are ridiculously friendly, and so far I have walked about 29km around the city in three days, and shot 24 sheets of LF and 4 rolls of MF (6x8) film. The light has been good, and no-one has blinked an eye...

Re: Bringing the Light Meter to the 21st Century

Fascinating - and I have 56 hours to decide whether the convenience of an incident meter with my iphone is (a) worth $99, and (b) will prove more useful than the Sekonic 748DR, Gossen Luna Pro F or Pocket Spot that I routinely carry about now... The stated EV sensitivity specs are certainly impressi...
