Re: The bit I hate most..

Well, they're almost dry and it seems one of the sheets has some effin' great scratches on it. It was my first go developing two sheets in a tray at once so I guess it was an experiment but grr. The other is clean at least.

Must work on my technique.

Water temperature

This is the second thing I hate. Getting my water to (close to) 20c. I'm thinking about getting a fish tank heater. What do you guys use or is it just a case of a bit of cold, bit of warm, bit more cold, bit more warm, that'll do etc.? I was incredibly lucky in my old place in New Zealand where the ...

The bit I hate most..

Waiting for negatives to dry.

I can see them in all their negative glory but until I get them on my scanner I can't fully realise their magnificence!

Re: The 8x10 is ready to see duty .....

Any photos of the camera? You know how we like to see these things! I'm crossing my fingers for a dry and bright weekend coming. I've been training for the Oxfam Trailwalker and most of my weekends have been taken up doing that so haven't had a great deal of opportunity to get out with the camera. T...

Re: Darkrooms

Re: Backpack?

I tend to carry my camera on my tripod and everything else goes in a small backpack. Fine for 4x5 but probably less so for 8x10. I did look into the Photobackpacker(http://www.photobackpacker.com/home.php) option but haven't committed to it yet. I may just grab one of their 4x5 cases and pick my own...

Re: Welcome back (hopefully!) and my apologies!

Yep, just saw that. I think I'll add a few more questions to the registration form and see if that makes any difference. I'm assuming that those users aren't automated bots initially.

Good point about the forum. I'll add it to Google and Bing manually and see if that improves our search position.

Hi Steve! Thank you very much for the good words. Hopefully this iteration of the forum will stick around longer than the last!

Re: Direct or Indirect Shifts?

Perhaps that's what I'm doing wrong - putting too much tilt on it. I shall look tomorrow and have another go!
