I hear you Maris, and I also find that ink can take over when I do my editorial shoots for a biker mag.
But part of the segregation between recreational and commercial is shifting the the emphasis. In this case it is an observation of some of the artefacts of lifestyle: the shoes, the bracelet, the hair and the inks. It is not intended as commentary, criticism, judgement or idolatry. An observation in keeping with a lot of other body observations which, together, form something of a typology of the human form and condition at this time and in this place.
One I scan some more I shall post them. There was one pair which I shot to either show or conceal the sculptural quality of the scapula incorporating the tattoo.
