Sunset & Reflections.

Postby RoganJosh » 11 Dec 2014, 14:15

Looking west from the northern end of St. Helena island. It's rare to get a glassy day on Moreton bay even in winter, let-alone one with clouds in the sky. 90mm on 4x5' t-max printed using the ghetto enlarger.

There must be a million sunsets done every day and nearly all of them look the same. The top of the picture has intense visual dramatics and the bottom is a vast featureless black lump. All perpetrators of this style of sunset should be propped up in front of RoganJosh's Sunset & Reflections and told to study it as an example of how to use a phenomenon that happens every day and make it worth looking at. The foreground reflection doubles the spectacle; two sunsets for the price of one.

Cheers Maris, quite the wordsmith as usual. If those sensors keep improving at the current rate it wont be long before that "vast featureless black lump" becomes just a vast lump.
