Canyon, Booloomba Creek
Gelatin-silver photograph on Ilford VC FB photographic paper, image size 21.5cm X 16.3cm, from a 4x5 Kodak Tri-X negative exposed in a Tachihara 45GF double extension field view camera fitted with a Schneider Super Angulon 90mm f8 lens.

Booloomba Creek is a tributary of the headwaters of Carnarvon Creek in the central Queensland highlands. Getting there is a nice long walk with a view camera; half a day in, half a day out.

Looks like you were rewarded with great weather for photographing, after what was probably an interesting walk in. Cloudy bright weather?

Never heard of Booloomba Creek, so I did a search, came up with Booloumba Creek, is this the same?

Well caught Mick. The place is actually Boowinda Gorge carved by a creek of the same first name, I think. My filing system had it the BOO- section and I didn't check the fine print.

Well worth the effort, Maris. I can feel the crispness in the air — or is that because the prevailing weather here at present is influencing my visual experience?

Judging from the top left corner alone, this would've been hell to print.

Walter Glover and RoganJosh are right about effort. A 4x5 negative is a marvellous thing: 10 stops of "dynamic range" and detail all over it. The tricky part is getting that content out on to photographic paper. The top left hand corner was a 4 stop "fuzzy" burn with a grade 0 filter. Couldn't bear to leave it blank white.
