The Little River pictures are difficult. Everything is there, the rocks, the trees, the water but the lighting (time of day?) looks unsympathetic and the sky is the same hard blue blank that Australia serves up often. Maybe Little River 3 72 8 is fading at the the top corners through lens coverage limitations. No matter! Given what you had to work with I'd challenge anyone to do better.

Hill End is sweeter. The buildings are outrageously picturesque and the sky is delivering a few clouds to reward your efforts. Hill End Main Drag is a perfect compositional exercise that repays extended viewing.

Thanks Maris,

What can I do but to agree. Although I don't actually hold much respect for I'll End Main Drag. I don't like "pretty" and I fear that the authorities have arranged the streets ape a little too much like a picture postcard. Most of the time my motifs are a celebration of what is there, but with things like Main Drag I probably exercise a modicum of sarcasm.

The Shneider Super-Symmar HM is a lens of extreme resolving power but has a smaller image circle as a result, hence the slight vignette. I am not all that averse to a bit of a vignette.

Regards,
Walter Glover
