Scan From A Print

Postby Walter Glover » 19 Nov 2012, 07:22

Well, I am about to hit my stride with the 8x10. A beautiful part of shooting 8x10, for me, is the contact print. There is simply no finer example of photography than the contact print, and the 8x10 contact is big enough to really see.

To that end I scanned a print (not a contact, but an enlargement from a 4x5 neg) just to test the waters with print scanning. Of course, my scanner will handle 8x10 negs but I was curious what could happen if I did the work in the contact printing stage and then just scanned the print.

Any chance you'll be doing any carbon printing of contacts?

I'd love to try it with the 7x17"; however, it does seem massively time-intensive.

One day...
