Cedar Creek - Samford Valley.

Linhof Kardan Super Color ST
Rodenstock 75 F/4.5
Velvia 50

Texture in this shot was everything and I found that whilst impressive, the colour in this shot detracted from the mass of textures seen..

it was quite a trek to get to where this was taken, it was raining and each side of the creek is steep, sheer rock faces that were incredibly slippery. Further up the bank is private property and most of it is booby trapped by the locals (probably deturing thieves who would traverse up the river at night and try to break in to homes etc.) we're talking about shin high barb wire fences, star pickets set up as impaling prongs in walkways.. rusty metal sheets lying in spots where sharp edges protrude onto walkways.. Its nasty...

In any case, I braved it all (for the most part) and got this among a few others....

Sometimes 617 format is perfect. It all stretched sideways. Creeks flow sideways as well. The two match so elegantly.

Another theory about the unwelcoming attitudes of some deep forest denizens of the Samford Valley hinges on the possible presence of smokable herbs. You have courage to go in there. And when I walked through a few years ago on a rainy day it was the leech capital of Eastern Australia. Gulp!
