This is on the road in from Berridale into Cooma, NSW.
I was on my way back into Jindabyne to hang out in the Snowy Mountains for the week. I was terribly unfortunate with the weather. On my way North, I was greeted with rain the whole time I stayed in the Snowies. On my way back South, I drove non-stop from Byron Bay to Jindabyne (some 1300km voyage) to spend some quality time checking out the Snowy Mountains after seeing a small selection of some of Maris' fantastic photos from the region.
The weather forecast on my way South was looking promising, but as soon as I stopped to take this photo, the clouds started closing in behind me. They never let up. The forecast changed rapidly and within a couple of days it was forecast strong winds, rain and snow the remainder of the week (same week Sydney copped those brutal storms)
This was the only photo I managed to get in the area. One day I will go back, armed with some good weather and plenty of time.
Please excuse the small dark vertical line about 2/3 across at the top side of the image, it is a scanner issue I need to address.
