Walter, those Nissen huts are visually fabulous. I reckon they are an example of "form forces function" rather than the other way around. And the basic versions were horrible to live in. I've frozen in a Nissen shaped refrigerator in Victoria and roasted in a Nissen shaped oven in North Queensland. The worst part was how noisy they were. As soon as a cloud shadow arrived the hot iron would contract in a cresendo of clicks and squeaks. When the sun returned the whole cacophony would be run again but backwards.

Nice series Walter. (Is this 'the project' with your new camera? If so, you didn't waste any time!) Looking at these what strikes me is the differences in attitude people have to their home. Some show pride in their humble Nissen hut and beautify it with a nice garden (3rd image); others may regard it as just a roof over their head, a tin hut, and possibly too embarrassed to take any pride in it. An interesting aspect of the human psyche to ponder.
