Hi Wakter,

Interesting image. At first glance I thought that there was some sort of geometric distortion involved, but on closer inspection I see that the structure is tapered from the top down. Is it some sort of water tower? Regards.

Yes, that picture certainly captures and holds attention. And it reverses the natural order of things. The heavy dark stuff, solid matter, usually falls to the bottom of the picture while the light stuff, air, sky, sunlight ordinarily rises to the top. Here it's the other way around with all the weight looming overhead.

In response to your speculation, Barry, I submit a full image which was intended for my water towers motif.

Ah, watertowers. Bernd and Hilla looking down from on high would be chuffed!

Ah yes, the Bechers! Similar motif, among others, but now an attempt to replicate with the same end in sight.

Water Towers are just one triumphant looking aspect of the built environment and there is such diversity in form and structure as to provide a myriad of possibilities.

Many of these motifs have had to rest on the back burner for some time now, but with retirement comes greater scope for activity.

Cheers,
Walter Glover
