A HORNET by the shed in the garden — NOT MACRO

It seems to be a user, too, as there is no long grass growing under it. Not too many cars of this age are still on the road. Well spotted.

I had a look on Flickr to see the picture bigger. It's a beaut. Even in the 1970s I'd see Hudson Hornets around. They were prized as a "yank tank" that could actually turn corners without wallowing.

Thanks lads,

In the 1950s my father worked briefly for a man who had a (then) brand new Hudson Hornet. It was such a thrill as a kid to go for a run in the commodious rear section. This was an era when a 'saloon' really was quite a saloon. Now we are stuck in the era of the 'sedan' or the hatchback where rear seat accommodation is something of an afterthought.
