Were the Egyptians at Bondi before Cook?

Now this is a double mystery. I see it as The Pelican @No.21 and as Natural Basalt Sphinx, Bondi. Could it be either, neither, or both?
Annoyingly, I've carried a camera at Bondi and missed this excellent rock formation. Note to self: be more observant next time.
The geologists reckon this stuff is a striking and rare example of Triassic sandstone imitating columnar basalt. Definitely worth a look and a photograph!

I'd love to appear smart and say that I posted the correct Title on an incorrect Photograph as a super erudite test of the spirit. But alas, I was just experiencing yet another Seniors' Moment.

HERE is the Pelican @ Number 21.
