Bracket Fungi, Again.

Barry Kirsten in the previous post reminded me of the visual virtues of bracket fungi. Here's my attempt:

Gelatin-silver photograph on Ilford MGIV VC FB photographic paper, image size 24.6cm X 19.5cm, from a 8x10 Kodak TriX Pan Professional negative exposed in a Tachihara 810HD triple extension field view camera fitted with a Fujinon-W 300mm f5.6 lens. Signed, titled, and stamped verso.

An interesting image, too. As I looked down the image I was intrigued by the bark pattern and wondered what the host species was, as many fungi are host-specific I believe. My question was answered by the caption - Banksia. I'll have to do more of these as there are many types with interesting patterns and textures. And as you pointed out previously, Maris, they cooperate nicely in windy conditions. :D
