Some Trees

Postby Barry Kirsten » 06 May 2016, 13:24

I'm in a 'trees' mood today, not uncommon for many of us.

Southern Sassafras at Errinundra Plateau in eastern Vic. A few patches of this species remnant of the last ice age survive on the Australian mainland. Beautiful trees with soft hued foliage. 8x10 FP4+, 480mm Apo Ronar. Printed on Gallery grade 3 and selenium toned.

Regrowth after bushfire. Cann River area. 8x10 FP4+, 10" Commercial Ektar, #8 filter. Gallery grade 2.

Both nice, Barry.

I like the 3D effect on the Sassafrasses (geez, that's a lot of esses!!)

Thanks Lachlan. I should have mentioned that the small mainland Sassafras pockets remain from the last ice age, before the mainland and Tassie separated. It goes without saying that all the best stands of Sassafras are where you are at the moment. Make the most of Saturday, as tomorrow's weather forecast looks awful.
