So busy of late, a rare recent photograph. Efke 4x5 in PMK, 150/4.5 CZJ Tessar at f/16.

Wow, it doesn't look like Selaginella, the resurrection plant (my botany is rusty), but it sure looks beautiful. That striking "metal foil" effect that some leaves show is impressive but elusive. I look for it too but don't succeed as nice as this.

It's Acanthus mollis.

Ancient plant, its image is ubiquitous upon Corinthian columns' capitals.

And the flowers are spiky bastards!

Thanks Maris. It's nice when everything works. When time permits I plan to do a proper print on paper. Happily in this case the scanning worked out well. I have a HP 4890 scanner which was given to me but I've never found it satisfactory, mainly I think because the software is very basic. I've been thinking of looking into something like Silverfast, but don't know if the machine's worth it. Lachlan, the flower stem is forming at the moment and am thinking it might make a good subject in due course.
