Lone Tree

Postby smbooth » 12 Jan 2017, 07:03

Instead of Maris having all the images here I thought I better contribute something.
Lone Tree is a 8x10 contract print from a Fomapan 100 negative taken last week while at Falls Creek Victoria. Developed in Xtol 1:1.

If you are going to do an isolated tree in the open air it doesn't get better than this. Look at the framing: big rock on the left, bushes on the right, and the dramatic tree itself against a perfect streaky sky. The determination to lug a 8x10 view camera in the high country sometimes pays off. It's not luck. Good one Shane!

Well framed. Looks like a cluster of brain neurons or something. Subtle use of that filter too.
