G'day all
Brian, my box cameras comprise 2 boxes which fit one inside the other. The rear box, which carries the film holder, slides inside the front box, on which is mounted the lens. Stray light cannot reach the film as light only travels in a straight line.

Shane, my lenses are called simple not because they are simplistic in manufacture but because the term refers to a lens of one element. Single element lenses are inherently poor photographic lenses becuase they have various faults or what are termed aberrations.
I use various 90mm plastic storm water pipe fittings to build and mount my lenses.

From my understanding of the maths, the D strength/measurement of a lens is in relationship to 1000. So, a +4D (D=dioptre?) lens would have a focal length of 250mm i.e 1000 divided by 4 equals 250.
