Hello from Sydney

Postby Andrew Nichols » 11 Dec 2012, 21:54

G'day Australia.
My name is Andrew and yes I am the self same trouble maker from the large format forum trading under the name cosmicexplosion.
For those who don't know me I shoot 8x10 on a sinar and a Kodak 2d
I took up photography 2 or three years ago and am only now really starting to get results. Primarily because I was mentored by Gordon undy of point light
And not because of all the books I bought although subconsciously maybe.
I still have far to travel but shots like this one I can now do on purpose. This shot is a print taken with Iphone of an 810 neg. but you can see there is a good neg though the print needs a bit of work.
I was stuck with a number ilford 4 filter. And should have had a number 2.5
Any way I am very happy with the fact I am getting what looks like a photo.
Instead of grey stains.

I was originally printing with no filters and wondering why it was without contrast.

Any way next week I take hold of a box of c41 chemistry. And start shooting colour!

Woo hoo

Any way I don't take any thing personally so if I say some thing that is controversial or offensive and you call me up on it I would rather you do that that be a princess about it.
I mean shoot a roo
We are Australian, we can Handel it
Or maybe not.
Maybe we are to thin skinned.
Any way we are here for photography.

Here here!

Yeh welcome, sounds as if you've somewhat of a rep. I've been called a troll more than once by some who can't maintain a discussion.

So make a post, start a movement, express an opinion.

Well I have not had the troll title.
I guess a lot of photographers are cerebral types.
Any way and I am more of a larrakin
But any way
I suppose I was erroneously bringing baggage from LF forum
But yes let's get into it.

Well the truth is I entered the lf site in such a way much like a bull in a china shop so I garnished all the old hats at web stabbing
Admittedly I was doing the audacious taking on 108 as my first ever camera
So it rolled on from there and have gone through a rough and incomplete rite of passage in a sense
But in a way I was hoping for a fresh start over here and should not have brought my baggage so forgetaboutit
I actually really want to master the strait shot and print
That's my focus however diluted with the advent of being stuck on a body!
