Elliott Erwitt is a good guy blessed with wit and humour. Last time I talked to him I hoped for some photographic insights but instead he bemoaned his foolishness in marrying four times. California apparently has some formidable community property laws which have put him through the multiple alimony mill. He's not rich but has a sympathetic publisher who mines Elliott's mountain of contact sheets and has promising pictures enlarged for Elliott's approval. Result is an mildly profitable Elliott Erwitt book every two years or so; now you know. Meanwhile it's good to see Elliott's accumulated wisdom coming out in video form.
