Silica Gel - does anyone have any?

Postby Alastair Moore » 04 Mar 2013, 19:11

Trying to get hold of some silica gel packets. Does anyone have any? Alternatively if you can suggest where I might find some before Friday, that would be a good alternative!

Thanks!

Cheers Walter. Won't be going anywhere close to Vanbar this week but turns out a ziplock bag with my lens and some (unboiled) rice in it did the trick too! There was some fogging in one of my lenses from the weekend. I'm not going to say how that occurred. :oops:

I looked around for the silica pellets for a while, and ended up using packets from shoe boxes. But guess what kitty litter is made of? =}

You can also buy bulk indicator and non-indicator silica-gel from chemical suppliers such as Selbys.
