Try a lapidary place were they rotate drums of rocks the polish them.

Now that is an idea... I thought of an old treadmill but it might be too fast? Shorely there should a cheap non related base solution out there?

One of these, the wheel separation is 170mm. So make sure your drum with fit. The little trigger switch does not work, will it works but it doesn't pop out when you take the drum of so it keeps going until you turn i off at wall. $20.00, where are you, Melbourne??
