WTB 8x10

G'day everyone,

It's been a little while since I've been around these neck of the woods after selling my 4x5 but it seems that once you've tried LF you can't go back to anything else!

I'm looking to slowly build a new setup and am after a used 8x10 camera and lens. I would be using it for both landscape and portraits so would prefer one that folds and on the lighter end of the scale if possible. Having just bought into the Sydney market funds are a little on the lighter side too, so as much as I'd like a gorgeous Ebony or the like that may have to wait for the lotto win. And for me to buy a ticket...

Anyway, if you have something you're looking to get rid of or know someone who does let me know.

Nathan

I have a restored Kodak 2D, new bellows and bottom sliding tripod block. Complete except for rear extension rail.

Nice 2D!

If Nathan declines on it, I could be tempted...

Cheers Shane, sorry it's taken so long to reply, my spam filter picked up the notification so I had no idea there was any replies until I checked today. The camera looks absolutely gorgeous! Will send you a PM.

Still on the hunt if anyone knows of one for sale... Keeping my eye on a few 2D's on eBay but doesn't seem to be much out there at the moment - that I can afford anyway!

Sorry to keep posting but have managed to pick up a reasonable 2D. A new bellows, gg and some tlc and I should be out shooting in no time. Now to find developing drums, lenses, boards, film holders....

Looks a good start Nathan, My 2D is a 1938 ish age and is good fun to use.
The way I bought mine was in four sections plus the same bellows that Shane purchased,
Biggest job was light leaks which are mainly due to not holding the back tight when removing the darkslide
Gave me no end of grief, it occurred to me when watching a Edward Weston Video as to what he was walking around tripod and camera 2D with a large dark cloth attached to the camera with bulldog clips.
I now do this habitually and have eliminated the light leak issue I was having.
I also bought some Velcro an attached a strip in front of the side frame,on the back Each side a section of Velcro which I pull Tight to ensure light tight as possible.
Regards
Bazz8

Thanks Shane and Bazz. It got delivered late last week and I still haven't opened the box haha! It's killing me but between wedding prep, work, renos and looking after family time is really at a premium. Will buy one of those bellows on eBay and probably a wide lens ~200mm and then all the other odds and ends. Unfortunately I've been told I have to sell my 24 ts-e to fund it all...

I don't think you'll miss that digital tilt shift lens since you've got the large format toys to cover all those bases, nathan ;)
