Manfrotto 055 XproB Tripod and RRS BH-55 pro ballhead.

Looking to downsize my tripod and head setup as my camera size and weight has downsized rather dramatically...

I bought the setup about 10 or 12 months ago when I was frequently shooting wildlife and sports with either my D2Xs + 300 F/2.8 or 600mm F/4. Since now the biggest camera/lens setup I use is my 6x17, this tripod and head combo is a lot bigger and sturdier than I require. It will be so sad to see it go.. The head is a pure work of art..

I paid $295 for the legs and $495 + postage for the BH-55 head (which has the large size, lever operated clamp) I will throw in a large 50x50mm square QR plate (Kirk branded). This is the perfect size for most 4x5 field cameras (and was used mostly on my Linhof Kardan..

The head is completely as new - without a mark on it, and its operation is silky smooth. It is without a doubt the nicest tripod head I have ever used..
The tripod is in good overall condition. It does show signs of use. a few scratches here and there but nothing serious. The biggest thing with the tripod is that I cut down the center column because I never extend the center column and having the column cut down allowed me to get my camera down to within 8" of the ground. (which for wildlife shooting was a major necessity)

The whole show cost me $790, I will sell the tripod and head for $460ono

Alternatively, I would happily accept $200 + a Schneider 3b center filter :)

I will split, but only if I have someone who wants to buy each item.

I have the same tripod, although the carbon version and I must say, it's brilliant. I reckon this is a deal.

If it were the 4 leg version, I'd have it in a second. I love my tripod but it's either slightly too high or slightly too low at times.

Hopefully it sells... I just dont need something this big and REALLY REALLY need a Schneider IIIb center filter... the 90mm F/8 does not illuminate 6x17 velvia 50 anywhere near as much as I (or the velvia) would like

As an incentive.. I will entertain offers of $100 + postage costs.. Will be shipped via courier, and cheap.

Asking a friend, he was after a tripod for his new D800 but not sure if he is looking at a CF or Aluminum one.
