$99 4x5 point and shoot

Postby sharperstill » 03 Apr 2013, 20:10

I'm not affiliated in any way but I thought some might be interested in this Kickstarter to create a production run of 4x5 point and shoot cameras that will sell for $99 without lens.
There's a long thread about it on the Large Format Photography page.

That is cool, I would really love to have a point and shoot 4x5 for street photography. Raising $75k for production does seem a little optimistic, but I hope they get there.

They're getting close to the required amount!

I've pledged my lot for a 65mm and 90mm.

What's going to be different that the current 4x5 and 8x10 point and shoots don't cover?

It is the flavour of the month Kick-Starter deal.

Such a cynic, Walter!

For me, I don't have a 4x5 point and shoot! But will do in September or whenever they get released. And certainly can't afford one ($800+ for a Polaroid conversion - I don't know of any other 4x5 point and shoot) For $99 (and it'll come with a pinhole), I can chuck it in my bag with a couple of film holders, my Gossen Digisix meter and not even think about it.

Yes, I am given to cynicism Alastair,

But it was not me that you quoted.
