I'm using mass dev app
And the times are good and all
But is its default timing for tray or jobo
And how to adjust accordingly.

How much hypo to use in jobo
Is it reusable.

Do you use jobo for final ten minute wash or tray or both.

I'm using hp5 tmax dev.

I do my washes in the jobo. I do not use hypo. I wash my film a following with 1 L of water for each step

1x30s
3-4x 5m

All steps constant agitation

Not sure what those figures stand for

I'm guessing 1 wash at 30 seconds and then 3-4 washes at 5 minutes each.

I actually have no idea what Hypo is. I've often read its name, but never bothered to work out what it is.

I tend to run heaps of fresh water over my negs. Not heaps in terms of volume, nor time. I'll put at least 10 of the Jobo bottles (600ml?) through the system, leaving them in for a minute or so each flush.

I figure that there is more benefit in exchanging/refreshing the wash more frequently, rather than letting the film roll around in left over chemicals. No scientific backup for this, just shooing from the hip.

One final thing that I do: I squirt Photoflo over the hanging film using an atomiser. I don't like to potentially contaminate my tanks with this stuff, based on annecdotal reports of it being difficult to completely clean off/out.

Hypo if I remember correctly is what fixer use to be called before rapid fixers came out. What the OP is referring to I assume is hypo clearing bath to remove left over fixer more efficiently than plain water.

That's right.

Although I don't bother using hypo clear for negatives, it's not a big gain. However it makes a very big difference when making fibre prints; you need to wash for MUCH longer if you don't use hypo clear.

Research suggests letting sit in water is better than running water

Obviously volume and frequency of change is the question.
