Heidelberg Chromagraph S3400 Drum Scanner

Postby jars121 » 28 Apr 2014, 16:00

G'day LFA,

It looks like I may be approaching the end of my drum scanning journey. As much as I'd love to keep the S3400, I'm not shooting nearly as much as I used to, and when I do, it's usually with a small point 'n shoot. As such, I'm looking to find a new home for this magnificent piece of kit.

I'm based in Sydney and I've not come across another Chromagraph here in Aus. The machine itself is running beautifully; I tracked down an ex-Heidelberg technician who gave the machine a complete service in late 2012 (will have to confirm exactly when it was), and it has probably only had ~50 scans through it since then.

It comes with 1 small drum, 3 medium drums and 2 large drums. All drums are in good condition with no noticeable crazing. The 2 large drums are currently fitted with black cardboard for reflective scanning.

The system will also come with a PowerMac G4 with OS9 and Linocolor 6 installed, as well as a SCSI and Ratoc Firewire-SCSI adapter.

I will try and update this post with pictures in the next day or two.

For anyone interested, feel free to message me on here.

Many thanks,

Jamie

Goddamnit! If it wasn't the size of a Holden Barina I'd be all over this...

Any thoughts on keeping it and charging [us] for scans?

I seem to have lost the 'proper' office shot I did way back, which is highly annoying! I found this one on my old iPhone which gives a rough idea as to the office layout and the size of the Heidelberg too.

This was a shot of the Heidelberg in action, playing around with some LED light painting.

I wish I could Lachlan! That was always the plan, but full-time work and an impending move out of this house make that all but impossible! I'll be sure to point the new owner in this direction though :D
