Re: Wanted: 4x5 Enlarger + Glass

I've got a (very) old Durst 5x7 that I bought as a restoration project several years ago. Needs rewiring etc, but it's complete (including various condensors etc). I haven't yet worked out a price, but it's very big and heavy and would probably be hard to shift interstate (from Adelaide). But, like ...

Re: FS: Ilford 4x5 Film

Putting on my site owner/administrator hat, I'm happy with you advertising those things here.

If it's LF and/or film photography related then all is well.

Re: Wanted: 4x5 Enlarger + Glass

What state are you in?

Not that I've got anything directly suitable, but it might be helpful info for others because shipping can be expensive.

Re: Observations on staying home.

During the lockdown I used my 8x10 in our home studio, but I fast ran out of inspiration there :) Last weekend I took my 4x5 out for a quick architectural shoot on a quiet Sunday morning, that's the first time I've used my LF gear away from home since these troubles began. Hopefully I'll get into th...

Re: Filters for large format lenses

There's also the option of a filter "system", such as Lee or Cokin. For example http://leefilters.com/index.php/camera/system (that page shows it being used on 35mm equipment, but it also works with medium format and large format). The basic idea is that you use a holder which clips to you...

Re: Negative Negatives!

It's great to see that improvement, gerronemo. They say that you learn more by making mistakes, and it seems that you're now heading in the right direction. And pyrohamish is doing great for someone that's only 10 sheets in. There's a lot more variables (and hence things to go wrong) with large form...

Re: Negative Negatives!

Hi Gerry, Lachlan's suggestions are very good. You mentioned you're using the SP445; I've never used that tank myself (I'm using a Jobo), but I see there's some hints and tips on the SP445 at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTrtU0bhArQ including agitation. As Lachlan has suggested, it could be an ag...

Hi Walter,

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I'm sure I speak on the behalf of all the forum regulars in wishing you a speedy recovery, and hopefully back to photography before too long.

Oscar.

Mt Lofty

This was taken at Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens a couple of years ago. I do print most of my better negatives, but this one is scanned from a negative using an Epson V800. Taken with a Chamonix 045F1 with a 125mm lens (from memory!).
