Moving to colour

Hi everyone, I'm now planning on making the move to colour. I'd welcome some tips on moving from B&W. B&W is still my main method but I'd like to have a go at some colour. I'll be doing my own developing (in the laundry area) and scanning and will be using the 4x5 format. Any tips on film or...

Pylon at Minnippi Parklands

These things are a blight on the landscape especially at the Minnippi Parklands.
But I do like this photo, especially the immense DOF.

Re: First Scans with the V700

Thanks to you all for the scanning tips. I wasn't using the levels to get all the info but will now - thanks Shane. The more I use this scanner the more I like it. Pity Epson doesn't include detailed instructions for scanning negatives. The Epson website is not much use either. The other settings I'...

First Scans with the V700

I have now had chance to try out the new V700 scanner. Not too impressed with the SilverFast software that was bundled with it - Version 6 SE. Like going back 15 years in terms of software - pretty crap actually. I haven't upgraded to version 8 - even trying that was a bit of a nightmare so gave up ...

Re: Manual or instructions required

The back worked just great on my Kardan Super Colour. Negatives came out good and now I've still to scan them in and see the result on the computer screen. A couple of weeks ago I bought rhe Epson V700 scanner. But then immediately went on a 9 day bushwalk with 4 friends so haven't really had much t...
