Re: Under new management

As Oscar mentioned, he's passed the reins to me. Many thanks to Oscar for looking after the forum for the past six years, and for all the help in getting me up and running. The transition should have been transparent, but please let me know if you have any issues. Similarly, while I'm not planning o...

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

Hi Nathan, I did a little googling and found that it is common to run 82V lamps on 110V supplies. I don't know why it works (I can't get the numbers to work out, but my AC power theory is rusty). I do trust KHB though, so if that is what they say as well, then it sounds like it's right. So yes, the ...

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

Hi Nathan, There's a lot going on here. It sounds like you have the basic setup correct: power point -> step-down -> timer -> power supply -> enlarger If the enlarger worked properly with the 12V Australian supply, then you likely have a 100W 12V lamp. Hooking it up to the 82V american supply will k...

Re: Help needed setting up enlarger

Okay, the max power rating of the timer is 600W. It does not require 600W but can handle up to 600W. It sounds like the timer itself is superfluous - it can't be used to switch the transformer since it is 110V in/out. Connect the transformer directly to 240V and the enlarger and the enlarger should ...
