Re: WTD: wide 8x10 lens

Rodenstock 210mm W can be good value (weight and cost - all relative to the alternatives) if you can find a nice one... The 210mm Sinaron SE or APO Sironar S (same thing) 75 degree version are a good choice too, though less movements. Anything else will either be HUGE, or barely cover.

Re: Film in shipping container for 4 months?

For all we fuss about film and heat, x-rays and so-on it is remarkably resilient... perfect colour back in the days of ripened pro tranny is one thing, black and white is fairly bullet proof. I don't like leaving mine in hot hot cars, but otherwise don't fuss too much. Of course long term storage is...

Re: dark room gear for sale

Apologies - I should have been more specific. Large = 20x24+ - So would be interesting in trays or archival washers that big. Only CPP2 Jobos with a lift, or expert drums would be of interest. I've looked up the Satlzman, but I don't think it would be worth the transport cost to vic. Anyway - sounds...

Re: jobo foot pump

Using the pump is only dangerous if you don't follow the instructions and fill the drum with water before you pop the lid. It's also a great way to scratch your film with the 8x10 expert drums

Re: Camera repairs in Australia?

Camera Clinic in Melbourne will surely do it, but may not be cheap. Perhaps talk to Scott at Mainline in Sydney ?

Re: Singing The Ballad of FP4+

I've been committed to HP5 and D76 at 1:1 for a good while now. Thanks to Julian Pearce I've got some Pyrocat HD to try - but the only reason is to get stained negs for UV printing. Otherwise I'd stick with one stock for everything. I'm curious, except perhaps in 120 or 35mm why you wouldn't just us...

Re: Jobo - Uneven developing

Right - I tried that early on and couldn't ever get consistent results I was happy with... Found it a bugger to get the film to clear well etc. I haven't tired one, but if I didn't have my big expert drums I'd try this... http://www.catlabs.info/product/catlabs-cl81-an-8x10-sheet-film-processing-ree...

Another vote for Laurie - he's only doing a few days a week these days, and I'm always told it will take weeks... but it never does.
