Re: Lake Jindabyne, Drowned Poplars.

Great shot, Maris. I imagine how tricky it was to get it just centred at the limit of that lens's coverage. I wouldn't have noticed the bellows cut-off at the bottom if you hadn't pointed it out. And the red filter is just right for the shot.

Re: Sapling and Shadow, Soft Focus.

Nevertheless thus image has its own beguiling quality. I wouldn't be too hard on yourself, Maris. But who am I to talk? I'm currently reviewing transparencies I made in the 80s and am rejecting over 90 percent of them. :(

Re: Moonrise Watchers, Sunshine Beach.

Great shot, Maris. Dramatic tonality, and composition which could only work in portrait format, I think (love the rocks in the foreground). Nicely timed - you just got it together before the front obscured the moon, and maybe got everyone a drenching.

Re: Millstream Falls, North Queensland

You did well to get that Maris. Either not enough coverage or insufficient movements; we can't always win in LF photography. Now why doesn't someone invent a wide-normal zoom for 8x10 I wonder? A nice image, all the same.

Nice one, Mick. Lovely shine and tonal structure on leaves. These broad-leafed plants offer lovely opportunities for LF b&w. Well done.

And well used! I can imagine the mess flare would have made. Nice composition Maris.

Re: Continuing the Mushroom topic...

Hi Maris,
Yes, they're Amanita muscaria, the famous hallucinogen. I lived where those ones were growing for five years and was tempted each year to have a nibble, but being cautious never did.

Continuing the Mushroom topic...

Maris's previous thread prompted this, and given the recent interest in mushrooms in Victoria: a pinhole shot of pink fly agaric ca. 2016. The film was Kodak 7627 5x12 dental panorama film exp. 2009 and probably developed in PMK. This is s double-sided emulsion film and consequently a little bit sof...

Re: Eggslicer, Spatula, Masher

Good result Maris. I've been interested in playing around with such a lens but haven't got around to it yet. I take it you used a reversed close-up lens and no aperture disc? I've seen some beautiful images done with simple lenses of this sort. Well done!
