Re: Framed ambrotypes

Saw these a few minutes ago on LFPF Alex. Splendid work, congratulations. They would look even more spectacular seen in person.

Re: Melt Line, Near the Kozi Road

That sounds pretty right to me. I first visited KNP in '79/'80 and there was no vehicle access beyond Charlotte's Pass. I walked the entire round trip to the summit and returning via the lakes (about 20km if I remember correctly). I've since returned for walks from CP in both directions and have nev...

Re: Bicycle Belle

I'm tossed too, Mick. When I read the title I imagined I'd see something like 'girl on a bike'. When the image appeared I became intrigued and looked at it for a while without enlightenment. But here is part of the conundrum, that knowing the title forces the a certain expectation in the viewer to l...

Re: Tree and Moon, Isla Gorge

Well you work with what you've got, and I don't mind the vignetting at the top at all; I think it helps concentrate attention on the main item in the image: the moon set in its dark sky. And I think you got away with the bellows cut-off at the bottom, which is barely noticeable. An appealing image, ...

Re: Selfie with Noosa tee shirt

Thanks Maris. Local councils are spoil sports, aren't they? They seem to have the mentality that requires them to make and pursue petty regulations as justification for their existence. I have no time for them. O for the times when things were simpler and folk who weren't hurting anyone else were fr...

Re: Selfie with Noosa tee shirt

Thanks Mick. Yes you certain;y need something hefty to carry the Linhof around. I bought it many years ago and I love it to bits, but I can only give it a run at home or from the boot of the car. But I'll never get rid of it, a thing of beauty for sure. I rather like the film too although I use it m...

Selfie with Noosa tee shirt

Our daughter lives near Noosa and we all gathered there for her 50th birthday last month. One of her friends said that a southerner visiting Noosa should have a Noosa tee shirt; she gave me two. This image lowers the tone of the forum and I pray your forgiveness. It was done on x-ray film (why didn'...

Re: Fall, University of New England Campus, Armidale

That's geat Mick. I can understand that medical/scientific german would be easier to make sense from; I find it easier with my own work background in science and nursing in several languages; a sort of commonality exists. It's all pretty exciting, isn't it? I think so.
