Re: Kerning Crisis

Alas, the creative kerning did not keep the restaurant in business. Maybe not enough Greek customers along this section of Auburn road. But the tobacconist and supermarket continue. Walter , your photograph of this plain building, that someone valued enough to decorate it, preserves an interesting p...

Re: Moonrise, Paddington, New South Wales 2003

Walter , that is a seriously good moonrise. I try to do them fairly often and they always seem difficult because the timing is so critical, mere minutes either way. The best day is not full moon but the day before it. The correct exposure is the one that shows the "man in the moon" face. ...

Re: The "Red Barn" In Context ( and B&W)

Re: With, or Without?

Perfect architectural composition with the typical Walter Glover mastery of lines, planes, and shadows. And the answer to "With, or Without" is, I reckon, both. The two pictures, one next to the other, add up to more than the sum of the parts

Re: Wanted: 4x5 Enlarger + Glass

timcooper there is a spare 4x5 enlarger at my place in Noosa. It is a Meopta Magnitarus 10 X 15. It has not been used for some years. The actual owner is on a photo-shoot in the Australian Alps. I'll ask and let you know. Much much less than 1k if available.

And the deliberate inclusion of the Balmoral Tiger Tails, I think that's what they're called, on the live power lines adds stripey visual en...
