Re: Backlit Weeds, Soft Focus

Thanks John Power for your good words. The hole in the camera bellows turned out to be cheap. In fact I used the camera for a couple of years after the accident without noticing anything was amiss. What saved me was that the hole was in the bottom of the bellows facing the bed of the camera which is...

Re: Renovations Encroaching

Walter, you have captured a catalogue of every building material known all squeezed into one picture! It must take a lot of intense looking to find such a concentrated little scene.
And whoever Jack was who tagged the downpipe at least he had the decency to leave the wall patina unbesmirched.

Re: Charlotte Pass, Autumn Herbs

Thanks John Power and Walter Glover . I used to do Charlotte Pass every year for a month or so to get away from the lazy beach resort vibe of Noosa. Favourite season was mid April to Mid May. The weather could be counted on to be changeable or vile: sunny, cold, windy, rainy, occasional snow but no ...

Re: Work In Progress + Pole

Walter , that's an interesting symphony of textures and decorative motifs with a most unusual "horizon" line. Maybe the pole doesn't lean so much in an absolute sense but the obvious misalignment with the straight up and down building worth a chuckle. The striped "Tiger Tails" o...

Re: STRATIFIED • SKY • SHIPS • SEA • SURF • SAND • SHELF • & • SLATS

The seashore can be the simplest scene; earth, water, air, and if you include the sun, then fire too. Or it can be loaded up with an entertaining complexity of textures and shapes like this beaut from Walter Glover . Something to see everywhere. Those three blokes in the water best be careful. There...

Re: Faux Rustic

Good timing (again) Walter. The light skimming the slabs gives them an attractive silvery sheen. And the slight skewness of the slabs plays well with the unbending linearity of the corrugated.
There can't be too many slab huts left given the ravages of fire and termites. Is this one at Fagan Park?

Re: Mound Of Diamonds

How poignant! Order and disorder, permanence and dissolution, light and shade, and all this at Rookwood Necropolis. Walter you have made a photographic elegy.
