Re: Tree and Moon, Isla Gorge

I think the top vignetting is perfect; having that whole top area dark, then as though you had a graduating filter; everything lightening up as you come down, is perfect. I didn't think the bellows intrusion was that bad, but stuff happens. Did you slant the bed upwards slightly? Regardless, this wo...

Re: Down Ramping

Hmm, in business quite a few people seem to have luck all of the time, I prefer to think they seize an opportunity when it becomes available or apparent, then switch some or all of their business into another direction. I cycle around my local area quite a lot and I'm always looking for certain angl...

Re: Down Ramping

I'm not sure if this will work, but this goes to maps and shows one of the entrances to Southland in Marvellous Melbourne, where I took the exposure. https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.95719,145.0494532,3a,75y,217.89h,85.05t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1s2xJyOAnS5Byn6HEd4XBUqg!2e0!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpix...

Re: Down Ramping

Maris, the reference to Jeffrey Smart, I'll take that as a compliment. About two weeks before I exposed this sheet of film, I was viewing two Jeffrey Smart paintings. Subliminal influence, perhaps? Regardless, once I viewed the negative on the lightbox, and saw the simplicity of the automobiles comi...

Re: Selfie with Noosa tee shirt

Oooh, Barry, nice shirt; your daughter has taste.

Nothing like a VW Type 2 Kombi Flat Bed vehicle, to cart your photographic gear around, a Linhof Super Color Monorail, no less.

As for the X-ray film, why not, unless you're afraid we'll see right through you! :D

Re: Whroo Reservoir

Thanks Maris. I agree about the possibilities of dropping into a bottomless abyss. I walked from my campsite to the historical Whroo reservoir, checked out the photographic possibilities then started hotfooting it back to the camp via a shortcut to get my camera; not a great idea as there were holes...

Down Ramping

Taken at my local shopping centre complex. Wondering whether I would be checked by a security guard, I assembled everything ready to go in the shade of one of the wing doors on the truck, then all I needed to do was walk over, compose, focus, and wait for an appropriate amount of automobiles moving ...

Whroo Reservoir

Taken early in the morning before cyclonic winds started for the day, and thereby making any image on the water opaque.

Re: Black Stone in Beach Sand

Maris, this is simplicity and strength personified. I'm not sure how you managed to get a wet rock and wet sand, but the combined effect is what grabs you. Were you standing in waves of water? I agree with the comparison to the standard Japanese flag, so simple, yet so powerful. Their military flags...

Re: Wanted: 20x24 Easel

It was a long shot, however I found out that a 12"x16" LPL easel has been procured.

I've never seen a Photon Bear easel, only pictures.

The Saunders easels with the yellow base are great to use with white paper, you know exactly where the edge of the paper is if you have the blades up.
