Re: Is The Schneider Super Angulon XL 47mm 1:5.6 Any Good?

Walter, you certainly know how to amaze, and keep on amazing us. Very nice use of a super wide lens, in fact about perfect use. As to the answer to your question, yes, a super wide lens can be meaningfully sharp. The widest lens I have is my Fujinon SWD 65mm f/5.6, which is definitely very sharp whe...

Re: Up close with one of my favourites

Always having dead level doesn't always work, nothing like having ever widening columns to give a mood to an image. But as you work across the street from this and expect to continually take pictures of it, that will give you plenty of food for thought each and every time you go there. With this par...

Re: In Praise Of Minor White

Very intuitive Walter.

Your Minor White flip, in combination with the wider area seen, has a pupil and iris, while the balustrade is a wonderful replacement for an eyebrow.

I agree with the syringe camera/developing unit. I can see that getting quite messy; you never know though.

As for the Jane Goodall comparison, something like that never even entered my mind. :?

Perfect framing.

The ceiling semicircle makes this what it is.

2021 UK Photography Show Analogue Highlights

I stumbled across this, thought it could be interesting to some here. Essentially it shows the analogue stuff available, or about to be available in the UK. The sound is a bit iffy at times, but just being able to see some of the stuff was quite interesting for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ab...

Re: Hi-Ho Silver "Aluminator"

Walter, that looks pretty good, I daresay that if one enlarged the tank area, one would see a portrait? :D Good placement for a reversed headline copy among the tree, although I would think a thin black halo around the text would be a requirement for legibility. Aluminator, never heard of it, great ...

Re: Below cotter dam

John, this looks quite good, the overall dense atmosphere of a forested area comes over nicely, yet you have detail in other areas that make the picture; not necessarily an easy thing to do in B&W. You mention you wish for a longer lens, somewhere else you mention zooming here and there; do you ...

Re: Approaching North Goulburn .......

Walter, I didn't buy the 6x12 back, really tempted at the time but eventually gave it back to the seller at the flea market. Funnily enough, when I decided not to purchase it. He verbally attacked me telling me I was silly to not purchase it, as I wouldn't see another one that good for the same pric...

Re: Confined Basement Lap Pool

I didn't know you could get a 35mm lens onto a Master Technika camera, either version! Knowing Linhof I would think it has it's own super expensive lens board which is probably recessed by another 1.5mm over their next wider angle lens, lensboard? :o My best Japanese almost copy of either of the Tec...
